HAIRSITE'S
REVIEW |
- Cell-Wave Therapy Australia is not selling any kind of home
treatment kit for hair loss. Cell-Wave Therapy Australia is the publisher of a 22 pages
guide featuring the benefits of Cell-Wave Therapy and instructions on how to obtain the
treatment yourself.
- Per review of the guide - "Cell-Wave Therapy: a guide to
self treatment" and reading materials provided by the publisher, it appears that the
therapy is backed by only one
scientific research /clinical study conducted by Dr. Andrew J. Katelaris: "Cell-Wave
Therapy - The Effects on Hair Growth of Laser Irradiation, Laser Acupuncture and
Electrotherapy". No futher studies or research was documented in the guide or reading
materials about the effectiveness of the therapy.
- The major drawback about the therapy is that you have to purchase
the various electrical/mechanical components and assemble the units yourself.
- The therapy requires two units: 1) high frequency electrotherapy
unit and 2) laser unit. The electrotherapy unit is made up of the power base and several
attachments: an electrode socket, a saturator electrode, a comb electorde and a
coupling/electric lead. The laser unit is made up of the power base, an electric lead and
a laser probe. Again, you need to purchase all the components and assemble the two units
yourself. Frankly, I have never seen any of those components in any stores before. Perhaps
they are only available from specialty stores.
- The guide provides a 1 page instruction on where you can find the
components required to assemble the two units. For example, it mentions that with respect
to the electrotherapy unit, you can simply look it up in the Yellow Pages under
"Beautician Supplies" for a supplier. I did and first of all, I couldn't even
find a section called "Beautician Supplies" in my Yellow Pages. The closest that
I could find is "Beauty Salon" and there is no easy way to tell if any of the
beauty salons supplies the electrotherapy unit.
- A note of warning for US residents: with respect to the laser
unit, the author specifically mentioned that may be subject to regulations in the US and
thus may not be available in every State.
