| EDITOR'S REVIEW |
- There are several hair loss treatments out there that are based
on electrical stimulation. People should be careful not to confuse one with the other as
each product is backed by different research and clinical studies. Occasionally, you may
seen companies trying to promote and market their products by leveraging on the research
and studies conducted by others.
- Bio-Trans has provided very little documentation regarding
clinical studies conducted on the Electrical Hair Regenerator that it sells. It is unclear
what kind of scientific studies have been conducted in connection with the machine.
- In terms of convenience, the Electrical Hair Regeneration Unit
certainly beats the ETG treatment that has also been reviewed by
us. Unlike the ETG treatment, the Electrical Hair Regeneration Unit can be administered at
the comfort of your own home. There is no weekly clinical visit required. And for those
who live in cities where ETG treatment is not yet available, the Electrical Hair
Regeneration Unit seems to be the logical choice.
- Also, the Electrical Hair Regeneration Unit is a lot cheaper than
ETG treatments in the long term. ETG treatment averages to about US $2,500 per year (based
on US $50 per weekly session) compares to about US $800 (400 British pound sterling) for
the Electrical Hair Regeneration Unit which can give you as many sessions as you wish.
- Also worth mentioning is that Bio-Trans seems to be silent on the
issue about warranty for the Electrical Hair Regeneration Unit. When I contacted Bio-Trans
directly about the warranty for the machine, they simply responded that they will replace
the machine if it was damaged during shipment. None has been said about whether the
machine is backed by any warranty.
- A sour note for US residents. The Electrical Hair Regeneration
Unit is manufactured for use in Europe. The voltage requirement of the machine is not
compatible with US and Canada standards.
- Bio-Trans also provide advanced topical lotions for the treatment
of hair loss. See our review under "Topical Treatment" for Bio-Trans.
- Another provider of electrical stimulation is Hair & Skin Treatment Center in New York.
