Aldactone and Anxiety (Spironolactone, Aldactone)

Hi! I started on Aldactone 2 months ago at 50mg day for AGA and my periods have been irregular since then and I have had major anxiety and moodiness. I have also lost my appetite and lost 12 pounds in the process. I started at 120 pounds! I cannot tell if this is from the med or situational since I also just started dating again after being married for 16 years! Anyone had any reaction to aldactone like this? Should I go off the med for a couple of days? I cant tell any improvement yet, but I really want to stick it out because my temples have receded so badly I cannot wear my hair in a ponytail anymore! Hair is all over the house and I also count hair lost each day! This has been going on for 4 years since I did all my Infertility treatments and finally my dermo said it must be AGA accelerated by the hormones. So now I have no baby and hair loss! All my hormones levels were normal and I do not have PCOS. Any advice?

Aldactone and Anxiety

Annette:
I had very similar experiences on aldactone... 2 periods a month and lots of crying for silly reasons...
since it didn't abate, doc put me on finasteride 2.5 and knocked my Sprio down to 50 mg per day... much better now.

Spiro is, apparently, quite known for causing the irregular periods, but apparently not so much for the moodiness/emotional aspect according to one of my docs. For me, a high dose of Spiro made me ridiculous with all the weepiness!
