Shedding Question (Anemia & Hair Loss)

I've noticed with this shed that I'm losing shorter hairs. That scares me because it's new growth. Is that normal? Has anyone had that? My shed doesn't feel as bad today..then again I'm purposely NOT shaking my head to look for hairs, either. But I don't feel so much falling on me. I just don't like seeing new hairs being lost.

Shedding Question

My seasonal shedding was really stressing me out and I was noticing some short hairs, I put it down to stress

Shedding Question

Does shedding new hairs mean that your inable to grow any to full length again? This is freaking me out. Or is it that the hair has to go through a cycle to ready itself for better hair?

Shedding Question

RAE:

I am entering my sixth month with what has been diagnosed as a TE triggered by a semi-recent surgery. I too have found that more & more small hairs are shedding along with my regular, longer ones. As I understand it, the follicles might be "resetting" themselves and going into a new growth pattern, with these shorties being kicked out while the new (and hopefully normal) pattern establishes itself. I assume this is a good thing.

Shedding Question

If you lose hair due to stress it does grow back doesnt it? I was losing short hairs and I notice even in my normal shedding some are only about 1-2 years old and havent been cut, my hair length is quite a few inches below my shoulders. I have suffered anxiety for a few years now but recently it got worse and sure enough 3 months later I noticed my shed was up for a month but returned to normal now around 20-30.

Shedding Question

If you let go of the stress..it should grow back. My gyn said that. I did ask her about the short hairs and she said that was normal. She said stress can cause a lot of stuff..hairloss included. So..maybe your current state of anxiety is what is keeping your hair to grow fast.

Shedding Question

How did your doc explain losing short hairs as normal? I know you can comb the odd one out but really a hair should live a full cycle 3-5 years or so.

Shedding Question

She said it's the body's way of righting itself. She said a lot of the hairs go into a "resting phase" and they decide to come back together. She said it's common for some short hairs to fall..and then the next cycle they could come back stronger. Especially if all of the triggers are gone. But she did say if you STRESS out about it..that could hinder good re-growth.

Yes, Im sure stress is playing a big part in my recovery, I just pray my poor body will struggle through, as soon as I see some regrowth Im sure my stress will disappear, at the moment Im just existing each day, I cant enjoy much, Im not acting all miserable and depressed but I just feel down. Im doing all I can barr anti depressants. Im sure my serotonin is way down. I started step aerobics to see if that will help me. Man I was bad at it!!

Shedding Question-Post It Notes Work

I'd like for you to be happy. Try thinking about things that make you happy instead of stressed out..This is what I've done to help me..I've posted a POST IT NOTE on my computer that says: STOP SHAKING YOUR HEAD OVER THE SINK! Guess what? I've only shaken my head a few times..and each time only 1 and even 0 hairs fell out.

We NEED TO STOP CHEKCING OUR HAIR SO MUCH!! I've really cut down on my hair shaking today!!

cant say I ever shook my head over a sink but I do check the mirrors a lot (for reassurance?) because my hair is curly it bounces up and shows my thin areas, I could change my parting and I wouldnt see it but for some reason I dont want to, weird! I think I dont want to fool myself.

Shedding Question-Post It Notes Work

I have Androgenetic Alopcia (AGA) Female Pattern) and shed some days badly and others days really badly and other days not so much. I went through a period of 'normal' when I frist took the aldactone and then it went back to bad and so now I don't know when it will be bad. I know that stressing about it makes it worse but how don't you stress about it! I think that so much of a females self esteem especially as I am only 26 turning 27 is caught up in your appearance. I have put on weight due to the stuff that I am taking I have tried chinese herbs, natropaths, tricologists, vitamins, rogain, aldactone you name it! Any suggestions I would love to hear it. I have ordered some stuff off the internet from America. I will look up the site so that I can see if any of you have tried it.

It is such a relief to have you all to vent to and know that I am not a freak!
