Avodart (generic Dutas) (Menopause, Peri-menopause & Hair Loss) |
I noticed there's been no posting about Avodart since 2006 so I'm wondering if there's any new news? I'm going to start on Dutas - I'm not farting around with this hair loss stuff! My hair has always been fine and thin. Now it's so thin that if it were all one length, the HAHA "pony tail" would be about as big around as a pencil, maybe not that big. Lately I've noticed a lot of shedding - so, I'm going all out. I'm 48 so no worries about birth defects. Anyone else tried it? |

Not many people have tried it. I do know of one gal who posts on the forums who said hepart is completely back to normal, but the front is still bad. |

Yes, I have started Rogaine and intend to stick with it. The Dutas has not arrived yet. To answer your question, I got it at "inhousedrugstore.com". Wish me luck! |

I doubt your doctor will take you seriously at all. I left mine a message and they never called back so I said to hell with them - I'll buy it online and take it if I want to. All the warnings and the doctors say that if you're a female of child-bearing years not to even touch the stuff due to possible birth defects. However, nowhere online that I can find does anyone take it seriously enough to say, well, what about women BEYOND child bearing years - what about them? The only thing I could find is that nobody knows the potential of it to facilitate cancers in women regards uterine, breast, etc. (all the stuff men don't have). I'm sick of men getting all the attention in the world. Baldness in men is socially acceptable - but let a balding woman walk around in her natural state and all there is is stares. |

You're right about men getting more help with their hair loss problems. I read that there is much more testing on men, so the drug companies don't know how their drugs will affect women. |

Well, I've been on Avodart for a few weeks now. So far, no results but then I didn't expect any so early. However, yall may want to know I'm having no negative side effects either. |

FYI out there. My only side effect has been bigger boobs and a bit of tenderness in them. But since I was an "almost B". . . this is great! |
