Meds from Dr. Redmond (Accutane or Medications Induced Hair Loss) |
I went to see Dr. Redmond on Friday. He was thorough and understanding. He wants me to start Propecia 1/2 perday and spiro 100-200mg per day,for testasterone blocking He also wants me to start the pill, for estrogen. and to keep my periods regular on spiro. I am not starting the pill right now. I am hesitant to start the pill for a few reasons. |

I think this is a good regimen. It's very aggressive and will tackle you hair loss from multiple fronts. |

What did dr. redmond say about your risks regarding the pill and the benign breast disease? He usually is very knowledgeable about the risks involved with hormones. I had a long talk with him regarding HRT bc naturally I have the same concerns. |

You won't retain water now that you're on Spiro. My rings were once tight but haven't been since I started Spiro. Also, I noticed that I don't have to shave as often. It was a nice surprise. |

»Thanks for the replies! Dr. redmond did not think the benign brest lump was a reason to avoid the pill. He seems VERY knowledgable . I am hesitant as i have NEVER done well on the pill. Also the smoking of 3 cigarettes a week is a risk factor. He is adamant about that!! He said I could wait and see if the t blocking works and get a mammogram,if that is clear and i never smoke again i could go on the pill. I have the prescription. |
