I was wondering if anyone on this board had hair problems from hypothyroidism and recovered? It would be good to hear your experiences....

Hi Carly....Not myself, but I do have many friends who had hypo or hyper-thyroidism and recovered after optimizing their thyroids. Take care...FG ;-)

With thyroid hair loss, once yo get on meds and have you TSH stabilsed for w while, there is usually a big improvement,
What mesd are you on?

Thanks for your replies ladies!

V, I am on 100mcg thyroxine (no armour as it's not too big here in the UK) my TSH still isn't optimal but it is going down slowly.

ť With thyroid hair loss, once yo get on meds and have you TSH stabilsed for
ť w while, there is usually a big improvement,
ť What mesd are you on?

i bet when your TSh gets optimized you will see a BIG improvement in your hair...how are your ferritin levels? i know hypo girls tend to have issues with ferritin?

I do hope you're right V! My ferritin is good, over a 100 but it was very low - in fact that's what triggered my initial shed...and then later the thyroid took over....or at least that's what the endo thinks....

By the way I just wanted to thanks for your encouragement V! You respond to everyone and you're so positive!
