I am currently taking synthroid.86 and cytomel 1/2 5 grain aday. BAck in march after experiencing massive amout of hl. I beg the doc to prescribe cyomel . 5 grain 2x aday. prior my t4 free 1.06 and my tsh 3.400. after taking cyomel my hl gradually stopped and then increased and I stated to get dizzy on the meds. the my hl increased. Because of the dizziness I cut back on the cytomel to 5 grain 1x. Again I am experiencing a massive amout of hl. My labs this time are tsh 2.44,free 4t 1.25 and t3 2.4. I am going to try armour when my doc calls. I am also tired. What are optimal numbers.

I have always read that your TSH, for optimal thyroid health, needs to be a little below 2.0 and that andy thing above 2.5 is definitely suspect.

For some people synthyoird itself can cause hair loss. they don't advertise this, but if you do a little digging, you will find more info on synthyroid and HL.

I've read that armour thyroid is a better alternative to synthroid. You will have to search a bit to find a doctor who will prescribe it though.
