HELP - Freaking out - What is causing this shed? (Rogaine, Minoxidil)

So, you might have read my other posts, but I am so depressed about this. I started taking Yaz 6 months ago. I did have a lot of shedding the first couple of months but I think that was normal postpartum shedding (I had a baby 2 months before starting Yaz). After that, my hair wasn't really shedding too much anymore and the scalp itchies and greasy hair and acne went away. Well, just this week everything came back. My hair shed is WAY up and I don't know what could be causing it. I haven't changed any thing I have been doing. Also, the itchy, greasy scalp came back. I am debating about switching to Yasmin but am scared of the shed. I also have a RX for spiro 25 mg that I haven't started yet because I am scared of the shed. Does anyone know what could cause this to happen just out of the blue? I am so upset. To make it worse, my husband, son and I are taking a week long trip on Friday. This is our fist vacation since the baby was born and now all my hair is falling out again! Trust me - I don't have much to spare. In the past 4 years, I have lost over 50% of my hair due to telegon effluvium that progressed to AGA. I am also debating starting 2% minoxidol but am so scared of even more shedding. Does anyone know why this would start up again?

I can really attest to the fact that the shedding with minox/regaine is temporary and eases off (depending on the person) after a few weeks or months.

I cannot comment on Yaz/Yasmin. I started dianette a few weeks ago, and so far havent noticed an increase in shedding (yet!).

I have read a few females on here speak of shedding whilst on / off yaz/yasmin. Im sure they will comment!

Congratulations on your baby you must be so happy!
I am soooo sorry to hear of your shed. My own shed decreased and has now picked up again so I am hoping it is this seasonal thing people here keep talking about.Hopefully that is your case too.
However, I am confident Yasmin was awful for my hair. I had never lost hair post partum, on/off other bc pillls, after surgery, through stress, etc. With Yasmin I just continued to thin gradually, and not regrow. I think it may have pushed me into an early case of AGA. I know Yasmin has helped many women, and I think thats great, but even more women have complained of its side effects.
After my second son I went on Ovcom35 and my hair was never thicker. Maybe if your shed does not decrease soon, you could talk to your doctor about trying a new pill.
Try to relax and enjoy that baby! :-)
