Welcome back Nax! (Hair & Scalp Odor Problem) |
Nax,
Good to hear from you again. A couple of months ago I started using a shampoo bar, Liggett's Shampoo Bar. It was fun to use but after about a week I felt like I was getting the smell back again between washings. I started using the Jason Dandruff Shampoo exclusively for about a month and seem to be fine again. All I can figure is that the Liggett's wasn't deep cleansing enough and as soon as I started using Jason's Dandruff it cleared me up. I am wondering if you have been switching something around, although you were still using SLS free. Anyway, maybe the fall time of year has something to do with this?
Keep us informed of your progress. Although I feel I am under control I still like to check in with others now and then to report progress.
I don't remember if you liked the Jason Dandruff shampoo but they also have a Jason Dandruff scalp treatment of some sort. If you don't like the shampoo maybe you could try the scalp treatment. Not sure what is in it but you may like the stuff. I think it is the colloidal sulfur plus tea tree oil in the shampoo that helps...plus salicylic acid and vinegar which may help clear things away....

Welcome back Nax! |
Aaargh, it just happened again! I wrote a reply, the site timed out and I lost everything!!
Ah well
I miss u Betsyy!
Such a long time, I'm glad to see your still on the forums. I'v stuck with JASON tea tree these 10 months and have been quite happy with it. But recently, like I explained, the odour seems to be making a comeback (I used to get around 3 odourless days to every wash while now I only get barely 1!).
The funny thing is that it seemed to happen suddenly, which could indicate that something has just popped up to affect whatever is causing the odour. I'm constantly hunting for the reason, but for the time being I'm going to stick with my JASON tea tree.
I will keep you updated.
Ps Thanx for the welcome!!

Gina, I remember you were saying that your hair would fall out to the touch, like mine does. (I think that was you). Anyway's, does the nizoral take out alot of hair when you wash it? Has it helped slow down your shedding? And also, the more you wash it with nizoral, does less hair come out each time you use it?

Like most I have periods of very high shedding (yesterday as a matter of fact!) and others where it is still too high but less than my worst. Soes that make sense? I only use 1% Nizoral but may get a RX for the 2% at my next visit. I'm also considering taking oral Nizoral - but need to research more. My scalp is not healthy...but healthier than it was pre-Nizoral. I still lose way too much hair and I'm still in a major depression because of it. I want my hair back so I can get my LIFE back. I feel terrible day in and day out.
