Finasteride in premenapausal women?? (Propecia, Finasteride for Women) |
Hi
Are any of the ladies on here who are taking fin of childbearing age?? If so what have your drs said to you about pregnancy? Is it a case of going off the meds in advance and then the babies won't be affected?

Hi Carly
I've ready you should be off it for a year before trying.

Thanks Salis.
How old are you? If you don't mind me asking. If you haven't had kids yet what did your doctor say about it?

I'm still of the childbearing years. My dr. said "Don't get pregnant!" Being 46 and with two kids already and a hubby that got snipped a few years ago, I'm done with that anyway.

Finasteride in premenapausal women?? |
Hi,
I am 34 yrs. old and went off Finasteride 6 weeks ago. My doctor told me that I had to be off of it for one month with one normal period and then could go ahead and start trying for a baby which I plan to do now. I am going to a well-known specialist in New York City and very much trust his advice. He said that it leaves your system very quickly and does not have an effect on your eggs.
Good luck to you!

Finasteride in premenapausal women?? |
Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have been looking for someone who has been to the same specialist in NYC that I went to, Dr. Geoffrey Redmond. Was he the Dr. You are also seeing? I have been on a combo of BC (Apri), Finasteride, and spiro. It's been 3 months and doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm trying to hang in there because he is very well known for helping women with hair loss, so it would help me to actually hear from some women who've been treated successfully by him. Thanks!

Finasteride is not approved by FDA for the treatment of hair loss in women. Women of child bearing should not use it . They should not even handle the tablets. Finasteride affects the growing fetus.
If you are already on finateride you should stop it at least one month prior to get conceived.
