Positive Results - YAZ is working for me (Yasmin)

I've been on Yaz almost 6 months and I am having good results. Its the first time I've really felt confident enough to post it, but I started noticing lots of regrowth at the end of the 3rd month or so. Sort of all of the sudden over the last month or so my hair feels definitely thicker on top and looks healthier. For the first time in 2 years, i am starting to feel normal.

For reference, I have pcos and am also on spiro 200mg. My hairloss was started by a highly androgenic bcp 2 years ago.

I know how hard it is to ever find any positive news on the boards. While I don't consider this a full "success" by any means yet - something is finally working and I look better and feel better than I have in 2 years.

Well, its hard to say about the shed. I still shed way too much, but i am regrowing hair so it doesn't look as bad.

That's so wonderful--congrats!! I just saw a new gyno yesterday who HIGHLY encouraged me to go on it, and I said I'd think about it, but of course there are so many horror stories...you give me new hope. What's the regrowth like--do the hairs seem terminal?

Positive Results - YAZ is working for me

I was on lexapro 3 years ago that cause a major shed then I switched to effexor and it stopped.... But then I got pregnant and had to go off effexor and on to prozac...then I had baby and 3 months later my hair starts to fall and im itchy all over even my arms sometimes not just my scalp. So I switched back to effexor, It has only been 2 weeks and last time it took 4 months to stop after I switched. But now im thinking maybe it was the aleese the bc they put me on after birth.... I dont know! im just gonna try yaz I guess I start this sun..... if I do start im so scared.......GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Well that's the thing - I loose SO many heinous little baby spider web hairs that are 2 or 3 inches long - androgen affected hair. But a good percentage of the regrowth I saw were terminal - i.e. I could see them! I have dark hair, so i could see the dark pieces standing. Not all the hairs are good hairs though - but I'll take whatever I can get.Its definitely an improvement.

That is such good news, Alli. You're encouraging me. Do you also have AGA, or just PCOS?

I have pcos and I think I have aga too based on the mini hairs. Unlucky combo.
