I've read that Rogaine is not very effective in the frontal region.
Evidently, emu oil, has yielded better results for the bangs or hair line. Here's an article that explains more about that:

I've seen more hair growth in about a month of using emu oil than all other treatments combined! I hope more people try it the smelly little miracle-in-a-bottle!

I wonder if we in the UK can buy this stuff? Any sites where I can will be appreciated. Im pretty desperate as i have F all bangs left.
My Derm today said Regaine has been known to help the frontal area, but really, what does he know given he didnt think effin Dianette could cause hair loss.
Ive been using Regaine for almost 4 months and noticed nothing in terms of regrowth anywhere on the scalp. Still waiting....

5% foam i think is only found and sold in the states... I order it from Amazon.com...three bottles. if you read on the package the diagram states to apply to the back... but i guess b/c its targeted to men... and most men lose their hair at the back... well i'm trying it on my bangs and we'll see what happends. Sadie, maybe you haven't seen results b/c of the BCP... also its only been 4 months... and though that seems like forever... in rogaine terms thats still early.
I went to the dem for the first time yesterday... I've never been to one... simply self diagnosed my self with AGA... b/c my dad is bald and my brother lost his hair in his 20's, (but mom has a good set of hair)... based on my history he said its mostly likely AGA... he wasn't even willing do due any blood work... until i asked him. His response there's not much point b/c its AGA (what ASS**(& . he didn't due a pull test or anything. He basically said my only hope is rogaine... and i won't see results until 9 or 12 months.... now i know my people hate going to the derms

Thanks Rox! I've now got a bottle of Emu Oil! I've read the study but i wanted to know if you had taken it and had any success? (assuming you have AGA type hair loss). Thanks! x

I don't have hair loss. Unfortunately, my daughter is the one. Just a brief history on her hair loss. Her doctor prescribed Yasmin to regulate her periods. She doesn't have PCOS but had irregular heavy cycles. He gave her a 9 month supply of Yasmin. "Just to jump start her ovaries," he said. Once her prescription ran out, her dread shed began. She had a TE that lasted 5 months. She lost a lot of hair. We've been treating her TE with all natural ingredients as we learned that medicine does not fix anything but just causes more problems.
In any case, her shed stopped around the end of July. We're seeing a steady amount of regrowth but realistically, we know it can take up to two years to recover it all. She was 16-1/2 when her shed began. She's turned 17 since then.

That's so positive for her! Well, it definately sounded like TE from coming off the pill. Incidentaly, at 14 i had the same: irregular (like 3 times a month!) and heavy cycles which i was given dianette to regulate for one year. It didnt cause any affect on my hair back then (always had super thick hair until i was 26) but has caused hair loss this year - the two seperate times i took it.

can rogaine be applied to the bangs |
Rogaine is usually found to be effective to treat hair loss at the vertex (Top). It is used to treat milder degree of hair loss at the top.
But it can cause hair growth even in other places also. Thats the reason why doctors advice you to be careful while applying rogaine and take care that it does not spill or spread over the forehead as hair growth may occur there.
