Anti Androgens vs Estrogens (Propecia, Finasteride for Women) |
I have a question. If supplementing your body with estrogen and an anti androgen (diane 35) doesnt help, is it safe to say that anti androgens dont work for you, or that Estrogen makes you worse?

Probably neither. Neither one should make you worse in theory, especially not a premenopausal woman (correct me if you are not premeno). Most likely that the particular formulation of your pill wasn't right for you.

I am 31. Just dont know what to do or not do. All doctors say no androgen BCP
and Rogaine are the treatments. So I am doing both. But what if its an imbalance causing the AGA other than sex hormones, DHT?

I replied to you and Sadie on the AGA board, but:
Do you cycle regularly while not on the pill?
Do you have thyroid problems?
Have you had a comprehensive hormone panel workup?
If all the above is normal, it is not a hormone imbalance. It is DHT and hair loss genes. I mean, technically your hair follicle is reacting in an "imbalanced" way to the DHT, but it's really the genetic code that makes it act that way that is to blame.

I have cycled regulalry all my life, when off the pill or on. I am also pretty fertile.
My TSH T4 thyroid levels are within range. My Tsi is 139 (normal is under 125) and the antibodies are VERY high (471 and supossed to be below 35).
All other hormones are normal same with blood work.

Aye and there's not much one can do about their genes me thinks. My mother has thin hair and my father has the standard male baldness - horseshoe shape. Perhaps that is what i have to come and ive just gotten it early due to stress factors in life. Ugh!
