I was told by 3 different derms (and on endo) that the yeast on your head is NOT candida...but p.ovale and has nothing to do with candida flora we produce in our gut. They all claimed that if I (or anyone) had true candida overgrowth that we would display it in the mouth (thrush) and/or vagina (yeast infection) and not scalp.
I do take a probiotic but beyond that I'm not sure what else to do to combat yeast other than a yeast free diet.

I wasn't really able to find the info...I found the site but it appears as if they primarily sell health products and books, could you be more specific about how to get to the info you spoke of? Thanks

Hi Tc,
It seem that the site was removing some of the articles while at the time I was tryin to post them on the site, now I cannot find them on Nutricentre.
Well i can also recall it mentionted in Women to Women (I have taken an interest in their articles since I joined their forum) and so I am posting a snippet from their site where the yeast overgrowth/hair loss connection in discussed. I hope this goes through!
"You often hear of this kind of hair loss after a pregnancy or change in hormonal birth control. It is also a very common side effect of emotional stress (like a death or divorce) and physical stress (such as surgery or illness). Other causes of telogen effluvium are crash or liquid protein diets leading to sudden, dramatic weight loss; yeast overgrowth or fungi; hypothyroidism and other endocrine-related upsets; anti-coagulants and anti-convulsants; heavy metals; antithyroid medication; hormone therapy; and severe psychological distress or life-threatening situations."
