Regrowth on Yaz and spiro? IHT-9 or Thymuskin? (Androgenetic Alopcia (AGA) Female Pattern) |
Anyone with elevated testosterone had regrowth on Yaz and spiro? I just started both 2 weeks ago. I've been using saw palmetto (500mg/3x per day) and Revivogen since Feb and have had slight regrowth but nothing substantial where I need it - front and center.
Anybody having any luck or recommendations for oral stuff or topical? My regimen includes:
Yaz, Spiro (200mg/day)
Revivogen shampoo, Nisim shampoo and regrowth serum, Keta shampoo 2x week
Copper peptide conditioner
saw palmetto (500mg/3x per day), NOW prostate support (nettle/pygeum)
Omega 3, 6, Fatty acids, iron, Vit E w/ selenium, a beefy multi
MSM (lengthens hair's growing cycle)
Adrenal regulators (thought is high cortisol is converting to t)
Recommendations welcome!

Do you have high T? Mine was super elevated until I took Yasmin and Spiro 150mg. Then it came down and my shedding is WAY less! I dont see regrowth though.

Yes, slightly high T, as evidenced by oily skin, boils, dramatic hair loss. Glad to hear you're experiencing success!! How long were you on Yasmin and Spiro before you saw decreased shed? Are you still on it?? Are you using any topicals to stimulate regrowth?

Web Diva,
I think it took around 3 months to see a decrease in shed. Its down now from 40-50 to about 3-13 per day. I've also been using Rogaine and Ive been on it 7 months and have seen no regrowth. Have your treatments helped the shed??

Girls,
I was trying to avoid a dread shed by easing onto estrogen slowly. (some ppl have hair loss when going ON the bcp and I cannot afford that). After a month or two on Yaz I'll move up to Yasmine since that's higher estrogen and better for hair. So far, no dread shed on Yaz!!
Thanks for letting me know it takes around 3 mos to see a decrease in shed. I haven't noticed any decrease in shed yet but it's only been 2+ weeks on Spiro and 1 wk on Yaz. What were you taking that you noticed a decrease in shed?? Spiro?? Did you notice a stop in shed on Rogaine? I'm saving that as an absolute last resort.
Happy 4th!

Thanks! So you think saw palmetto has helped you? No regrowth yet but I've just raised my spiro dose and it seems to be helping more as far as shed goes.

Hey that's great spiro is reducing your shed. I hope for the best for you! Saw Palmetto helped me for awhile. Now that I'm on Spiro and Yaz, it's probably overkill and I will phase off (plus it can interfere).
I've been obsessed with figuring out WHY my cortisol is high. I had a eureka today, read that copper toxicity (low zinc) can cause poor iron absorption, high cortisol (upconverted to testosterone/DHT) and hair loss in women! Check it out - if it's your problem, it IS FIXABLE:

Before you go thinking it's your copper/zinc ratio you have to remember that a lot of these findings are coincidental. There are probably just as many women out there with high cortisol levels that have more hair then they know what to do with. There is a genetic link to HL and your follicles are sensitive to some hormonal inbalance in your body. Perhaps righting the imbalance can stabilize your hair. I honestly don't think the cortisol levels are responsible for HL unless you have way out of control thyroid issues. That of course is JMO but I hate to see women waste so much time grasping at straws when sometimes you just have to attack the obvious.
