New to forum-please help (Open Topics - New Hair Loss Sufferers) |
This site is a wonderful find. I have been suffering in silence. My hair loss began more than 10 years ago at the age of 37. I was able to slow it down and live reasonably normal by using Ortho Novum 777 (I believe that a switch to Alesse started the whole thing). I am no longer on BC since I am now nearly 49. I have been off for about 5 years. I have had mild sheding but not horrific. I have recently begun HRT using the Combi Patch for really bad menopause/perimenopause symptoms. I feel much better(no hot flashes, and sleeping through the night, even a little libido back) but my hair has started to shed again. I don't have much hair to begin with since the huge amount I lost in my thirties. I am also on levoxyl .50MCG daily. My doctor does not think the shedding is due to the patch. My mom is nearly bald. I feel strongly that my hairloss is genetic and probably DHT related. Before beginning HRT my estradiol was less than 1.0; progesterone <10.0; and testosterone 29.1 - I had to go to a wholistic practitioner to get these levels since my obgyn won't do them. It is expensive and not covered by insurance. Can anyone out there help me? I can't afford to go back to wholistic doctor.

listen i am in my thirties and have a shedding problem to. i tried giving info to another lady with the experience i had with a product that i take, but she thought that it was a spam what ever that is. but its an herbal pill called inhairit hair ,it has helped my decrease in my shedding i have not completely stop shedding but it has slowed down.i know that there are other hormonal things that play in my shedding witch hopfully when i see my derm she'll let me know.but look up this product do as much research as you possibly can with natural herbal solutions . by the way i am 35yrs old.sometimes women need to talk and share with others who are experiencing the same problem so i hope that i did help. by the way i am also new the first time i responded to someone was a few days ago and was disappointed to see that there are so many people who has lost alot of trust in there fellow woman. thanks ann dougherty.i do hope this help.........

Jen disregard the spam but from your tests your Estrogen is very low and your testosterone is a bit high. I would definitely change from the Combi patch and go on Vivelle and Prometrium. Is that low estrogen level while on the patch bc if so you need a higher dose.

No -the tests were before the patch and before hair loss started so severe.
Have you had any experience with bio identical hormones?
