Hi
Can i just ask if there is anyone out there who has taken CA by itself without dianette. With this pill you're supposed to take it for 10 days of your cycle. I was wondering what you do if your not on the pill. Do you take it in the same way. I know that the dianette is supposed to stop spotting and regulate your periods but im scared of putting more synthetic hormones in my body than i need to.

If there is no specific and important reason why you should take Dianette, do not touch it. If your hormone levels are otherwise in the normal range for you, there is nothing wrong in just taking CA. CA will not affect your levels of SHBG, and is mostly bound to albumin. The net result is that you will have less bio-available-androgens, CA will bind the androgen receptor, and slightly lower your total testosterone. If you have hair issues, I would not, under any circumstances, take BCPs containing ethinyl estradiol. If your levels need to be readjusted, go in low doses with an estrogen such as estradiol and/or, pure testosterone, if needed. You need not worry about the progesterone, because CA is a progestin and you're already taking it.

thanks so much for that info catou, thats really helpful because i keep hearing such negative feedback about ocs. Can I just ask, if you know, would i take it as i would with dianette i.e. 10 days of the cycle from day 5 ? I've heard it can mess up your cycle, so if it did, when would i know when 10 in was as the cycle differs i.e. 26-30 days for example. Also do you think i should introduce it to the body slowly i.e. half a pill of 50mg initiall and then increase it

Cyproterone Acetate is an androgen blocker not a BCP! Is there an apple inside an orange? You have your answer.

As for increasing the dose in stages, yes, this is the way it should be done.
