To Ellen -- regarding extensions (Anti-depressants & Hair Loss)

Hi Ellen: I wondered if you had the phone number or a website for the salon you go to in Manhattan for hair extensions. You said Rudolpho Valentin puts them in, correct? How does he attach those extensions? I am really curious and would love to go and do this. Sounds expensive, but hey, I have spent so much on doctors, prescriptions, etc., at least I would get some peace of mind from doing something like this !!

If you don't mind me asking, do you have TE or AGA? I think I read somewhere that you weren't supposed to have hair extensions if you have TE but who knows?
Thanks Ellen. Have a great weekend!

To Ellen -- regarding extensions

Rudolpho Valentin does a great job but I must caution you that he is probably the most expensive salon anywhere...He does what is called a protein fusion. It's not glue which isn't supposed to be good for your hair, but damned if I know what a protein bond really is. He is extraordinarily gifted in color, he creates the most sensational color for your hair and matches it to the tee with the extensions. His number is 212 327-4233. Tell them that Ellen Sherman sent you; I've been going for more than 3 years. He also sells toppers which are very nice. I have one with bangs and then hair in the back which is lovely. It is $500 to take them out and put them in which you will want to do every 3 months (I do it even sooner). I believe the extensions are $2k but it depends on how many you need and how long they are. They have literally saved my life. I lost all of my hair to taking an anti-depressant, but I also have AGA and with the extensions I can just put it into a ponytail and go off to the gym. I love having extensions and don't know what I'd do withtout them. Before I lost all my hair and needed a full head of extensions, I just had a few to give my hair some extra volume (due to the thinning from the AGA) and it looked sensational. Best of luck to you, Ellen
