Help, does anyone know the connection between hair loss and dandruff. My iron is low right now, but I want to make sure that my flakey scalp and hair loss might be related... I've had a flakey scalp for years. Please someone help! cathy

You can lose hair due to dandruff. Dandruff is a kind of scalp inflammatary condition. Dandruff can be easily treated. If your hair loss is strictly because of dandruff, the hair should grow back very quickly. Treatments such as Nizoral shampoo should work quite effectively for most people. For more severe cases, you may need cortico-steroids such as Betamethasone as prescribed by your doctor.

However, usually most people do not lose their hair due to dandruff alone.

Yup dandruff is not the only one which cause hair loss. I mean there are just little amount of hair loss cases with main major cause of dandruff. And dandruff can easily handle by shampoo anti-dandruff, but when you use it, let your hair dry before you going anywhere, otherwise it can more add dandruff at your scalp if your hair still wet, especially if you are using helmet or hat.
