	Facts: I had the Mirena IUD put in mid march 09 and had it taken out mid may 09. Among other side effects it was giving me, my hair was falling out in the fistfuls. Also in the same week in March that I had the Mirena put in, I moved out and my divorce became real. I have been under alot of stresses in the past few months. Before the Mirena I had not been on any form of birth control for over 17 years. I am currently 41. I thought that after the mirena was out my hair loss would stop. It has not. I luckily had to start with a huge head of hair, but the loss has not really slowed down. I have had my thyroid checked and doctor says it's normal. Im assuming that the massive hormones in the IUD after years of my body regulating itself caused this. But how do I get my hair to now stop falling out?? It can't continue this way for the next four months like it has been or I will have nothing left. Is there anything natural supplement I can take to help?? 	I would guess that your hair loss has nothing what-so-ever to do with the Mirena, matter of fact if you would have left it in I bet your hair would have started growing back. The reason it isn't the Mirena is because you only had it in for 3 months and your hair starting falling out in less than that amount of time. Hair response is 4 months. You would be best be served by continuing some sort of hormone replacement at your age (I'm 45 so I feel you). Progesterone works like the medication aldectatone, check it out.
