Yellow Dandruff (Scalp Inflammation, Irritations & Dermatitis)

I've ben experiencing hair loss for over 6 months now. Im 20 years old. No BCPs. No medication. My dermatologist told me to go rogaine -worst thing ever- I went off after a month. Still experiencing hairloss and itchy, sometimes sore scalp, with a lot of yellowish flaking. Any one in my boat? Thanks.
