bold patch (Children & Teenager Hair Loss)

my daughter is 15 years old and about 9 weeks ago she noticed a bold patch on the left hand side of her head gp gave her some shampoo which did not work then she was sent to the hospital to see a derm they thought it might be a fungal infection and took a sample this came back as negative then on the 4 july 07 she had a biopsy done in which i was told will take about 6-8 weeks for the results so what could it be
