To Carly (Doctors & Dermatologists)

» Hi Carly

I have a good idea why it is taking a long time to get my levels up; I have been told by at least two health professionals that BCPs and Androcur can actually CAUSE anaemia, so that is why it seems to be a long drawn out process. I was taking 4-6 Florisene per day, but it was proving expensive on top of all the other vitamins I take, so I now take Ferrograd C, a high dose slow release iron supplement with added vitamin C. I also supplement with B12, as Dianette and Androcur can reduce the levels of this also.
We shall see how things are in October I guess. I try not to panic about it any more, as I was told not to expect any improvement for at least two years - and that's if it grows back at all! It'll probably all start working by the time I am an old lady, all shrivelled and wrinkled like an old prune, but with a bountiful head of glossy thick hair!

Take care now.

Steph ;-)
