finasteride 5 (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)
Finasteride is an antiandrogen which acts by inhibiting type II 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
since T isn't being converted to DHT, itstops the attack on you hair follicle. I think it can be a very effective drug and I also think it is important for women to take atleast 2.5mg-5mgs to see results.
It isn't a growth stimulator per se, but the idea is that by blocking the DHT you can allow the follicle to heal and it can again produce a healthy hair, and stop the shed.
