Topical Avodart, Anyone? (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

I started taking avodart by mouth beginning in August. So far no results but I don't expect any this soon. I'm curious as to why you would rather put it on topically rather than ingesting. Either way it has to affect DHT the same. I don't see the benefit personally.
