Propecia or Spiro - which do you think is more effective? (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

Hi Julie,

I find all the studies interesting especially since it seems that finasteride does nothing for peri/postmenopausl HL. I was told by Dr. Redmond that per/or menopausal is not from too much androgens it's from too little estrogen. If you carefully analyzed these studies the age groups of the women that some were well into the peri/or postmenopausal and if his theory is indeed correct that would completely throw off the studies. I would deduct from these studies that Finasteride is VERY effective on premenopausl HL caused by hypersensitivity to androgens/AGA or hereditary AGA. If you excluded the women in the study who were in peri/or menopause the success rates would probably be much higher than reported. It may also be helpful for some women in menopause who may have some androgen issues if proven by blood test but not for the usual peri/or menopausal woman who has absolutely no HL until the estrogen dips.
