Julie, I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps the positive results from the premeno study were solely because of the pill and not the fin. Unfortunately, there are precious few studies of finasteride use in women as it is - I'm aware of 3. In the premeno studies, how can we really differentiate what the finasteride is contributing and what the pill is contributing to the mix? If anyone has seen a study of premeno women who were tested with fin alone, please post it. Although, I doubt they would do that because of the threat of pregnancy. In fact, Merck absolutely will not test it in women at all because they are afraid of lawsuits if the bcp fails (from non-compliance).
