Want to have another baby (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

Thanks - I think my derm said a few months too. I just am not sure now whether to stop all at once or to wean off it slowly.

As for my history, my derm suggested taking the following combo: 1) finasteride (I can't recall the dosage but I take one pill daily), 2) scalp drops - his own concoction which contains 5% minoxidil, 3) biotin 5000, 4) multi vitamin and 5) Vitamin B complex. I also went on Yasmin and then switched to Yaz.

I started this treatment last December and within a month, my hair completely stopped falling out! I was thrilled. I also noticed regrowth after another month or two. I went back after 5 months for a check-up and he said I had excellent results, but that he wouldn't know for sure if this combo was truly working until after a year of using it.

In the last several months, the shedding has returned but probably not as bad as before and I still have noticeably more hair in the problem areas than I had at the outset. This may be a result from first switching BCPs and then going off Yaz (it made me crazy plus I want to try to conceive in a few months).

As for my diagnosis - he just said I have female pattern baldness. I am very interested in reading more on this forum to see if I need to ask more directed questions or get any tests. I do know it's not my thyroid. My hair loss was initially triggered with a miscarriage and then after delivering my baby (now 3 yrs. old), I realized it had been too long to just be post-partum hair loss.
