Hi Sadie

I am sorry that you have not been having much luck lately with your hair. Hopefully coming off the Dianette will be good for you.

I just wanted to ask - you had a telogen rate of 18% on the top before but you say you never noticed any physcial shed? That seems really odd...if you don't mind me asking, how many hairs do you lose on average a day?

My shed rate also went down to 4% on the back and the top after seeing Dr Fenton for a few months. Initially it was 40% on the top and 24% on the back and I was diagnosed with TE. Personally I don't agree with his theory that if you shedding on the top but not on the back bottom then you have AGA - it seems a very simplistic view to take. I mean what about all the women you have diffuse thinning with AGA, don't they shed from the back bottom too?! Isn't that why they're not ideal candidates for transplants etc?!?

I too have heard that the shed from stopping the BC happens a few months afterwards...given that you haven't been shedding excessively in any case hopefully the BC shed won't be too bad.

Can I ask how do recognise miniaturisation? How long the hairs?

BTW have you checked your tsh recently?
