Well Carly, Dr Fenton ignored both my high prolactin and high thyroid antibodies: mine were 312 (antibodies) when the range is 1-50! He said cos my TSH was fine i have nothing to worry about. For some reason he doesnt think the prolactin or antibodies are causing my hair loss, but having just read the link you kindly posted, it appears there is a bloody link between elevated levels and hair loss! I think im going to ring him again for more bloodwork. Last tests were September privately via an endorcrinologist who essentially backed up what Dr Fenton was saying!

What to do? I found the endocrinologist and to be a complete twit and unsupportive. I complained about him and got some money back, lol. I'm scared to go to another as i'd put my hopes up, only for them to turn around and dismiss my concerns.

Like yourself, my loss is worse on the front top / hairline and temples. Not even extensions can fix those areas as they have to be "well hidden", so my bangs, which are pretty much non-existant, will remain....non-existant!

I'm pretty tired of running around consultants. Been doing it since 2005. At least Dr Rushton took you seriously and a cause was established

Oh, and Dr Fenton did say the Prolactin levels being so elevated can indicate PCOS. Well, i know i have cysts on my ovaries but that doesnt mean i have the full blown PCOS (the syndrome). I just think in a way Dr Fenton could do more pushing and investigation to find out the cause of all of this. A phone call tommorow will be made!!!
