So many questions...long (Menopause, Peri-menopause & Hair Loss)

Thanks for everyone's responses to date.

I went to see a dermatologist at Mt Sinai In NYC yesterday, and he told me that I do not have alopecia related to hormones. He believes that it was caused by anesthesia administered when I had foot surgery in late October (hence the sudden, not gradual, shedding) and is stress related. He prescribed folic acid and some other vitamins. He believes the shedding will stop and my hair will return to it's normal texture after a number of months!!!
