In hair transplant, the RECIPIENT site is basically thinning or bald areas in your scalp.

There are different techniques for placing the grafts in the recipient site.

Dr. Woods, for example, is famous for using micro surgical needles to place each graft. Here's a photo illustration from one of Dr. Woods' procedures.

Again, this is one of the reasons why these procedures are called MINIMALLY INVASIVE. You can see for yourself there is a minimal of trauma to the recipient site.
