It aint working (Rogaine, Minoxidil)

posted by j, 12.02.2008, 03:15

It took me longer -- several months longer than that -- to stabilize on Rogaine 5pct. Looking back, it's possible to tell. At the time, I just felt rotten because of the cycles of hl, etc. I went thru sheds on Rogaine -- and still may though I haven't in a while -- and felt really crappy about my hair for a long time.

I think maybe it just takes a while for your body to get used to the stuff and for your hair to adjust to both the new growth commands it's prompted to do and to get itself on a schedule for that. I stuck with it (because there was no way I was risking what would happen if I stopped) and it all leveled out and my hair is better than its worse times and actually not bad. It's not perfect and I don't guess it ever will be but it's way better than it was. I kind of wonder if it might be better if I had started the Rogaine sooner but I don't know.

I've been on it for four and a half years now and won't ever stop. I've been using the liquid but just bought the foam to try only I accidentally bought the scented stuff. Ugh ugh ugh! Why do they make it with scent? It is so nasty smelling!!!!

Good luck.
