A little bit of information (Hair & Scalp Odor Problem)
Well the odor has come back, but my Jason tea tree oil shampoo is still good at keeping it under control. Iv started leaving the shampoo in for longer periods and it seems to be working better.
Yes I'v realized that there are no medical reports on our condition, well at least none that i can find specifically written on scalp odor. I was reading a post by another sufferer who claimed to have been diagnosed with a rare condition called TMAU, which is a genetic cause for her odor. Following up this condition, i discovered the National Organization for Rare Disorders at www.rarediseases.org with research papers on a number of little known conditions. nothing on scalp odor or variations of this phrase so I'm wondering if our condition is rare or not? I also read that TMAU is an example of a condition that would take the average person about 5 years to be diagnosed correctly (i.e. because it is so little known, a sufferer may go from doctor to doctor without a correct diagnosis.) Maybe this is what its like with our condition. I'm going to write a letter to Monel Chemical Senses Centre asking if they would be willing to provide us with any information on scalp odor.
