Sorry Kim I didn't mean to make it sound like there was a scary diagnosis down the road. What I meant by that is if the iron therapy is not the solution you may need to explore different options i.e. thyroid, different bcps, Spiro, Rogaine etc. Most women who have problems with BCPs have a form of AGA ---which means that genetically your hair follicles are exquisitely sensitive to either androgens or estrogen. If that's the case any little change in the balance can cause a problem. In my case my follicles are sensitive to even the slightest dip in estrogen, for someone else it they can be very sensitive to even the smallest amount of testosterone. They can be so sensitive that their lab values may even show low T levels, but their follicles can still have a problem with it.

The good news for you is that you didn't have any problems prior to stopping the bcps and only had a problem when you stopped. I think your plan of starting the Yasmin makes the most sense but give it a couple of months to see if it's working. Unfortunately you're not going to see a difference in two weeks, it usually takes 2-3 months to see if they're helping.
