Which ones have hair loss risk? (Anti-depressants & Hair Loss)

posted by Becky8171, 21.03.2008, 02:18

Personally, I think the best thing that you can do is pay attention if your daughter says she's experiencing any side effects (hair loss or anything). It's obvious you already are, though. Doctor's have a tendency to dismiss concerns as if it's no big deal. I don't care if it's a 1% possibility. If you're that 1%, it's a big deal! I wish they'd take a minute to imagine being in their patients shoes. I found an old day planner from 2005 the other day, it says on 12/12/05, "Make Dr. appt., losing a ton of hair, etc." No one has taken me seriously yet.
From what I've read, Lithium has the highest percentage of hair loss as a possible side effect. I've seen 12% a few times and 12-19% on one site.

» My daughter is probably going to be prescribed antidepressants, which leads
» me to wonder which ones have the hair loss risk? I've seen from this forum
» wellbutrin is a clear risk, but are there others that are well known for
» this?
