To answer your questions, the shots help to keep it calm. It's the medication that really help to do the trick. Sorry to hear that prescription meds irritate your hair/scalp. Do you suffer from SD yourself?? Was that the reason you were given the Loprox?? Loprox again, as far as I'm aware, is more for fungal issues. It's the Clobex shampoo + Nizoral that more for SD. Have you ever been RX those??

Sometimes my Dr. like to switch up the shampoo w/me b/c really with SD, I found that the Dermasmooth oil and the Clobex lotion can really do the trick itself, so I think as just an added step, she'd sometimes throw in the Loprox, just in case of Fungal infection. But I didn't necessarily need it.

Try the shot. If it's an odor problem you have. Perhaps a slightly higher dosage can help with the SD, if you really can't be on any of the topical meds.

In regards to the shedding; I naturally shed a lot of hair. I have for years. Even before any of these issues started. It's more stress related for me. And me having worn an extension years ago didn't help. I think my hair is still feeling the effects from that. No, the medicated shampoos are not adding to my shedding at all. It's pretty much the same old amount.
