A SOLUTION THAT WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE..... (Hair & Scalp Odor Problem)

» »The loprox was prescribed to me because when I got my hair dyed, I got a
» dry itchy scalp on the right side of my head. There were big white flakes,
» only a couple. They told me I had SD and to use the shampoo every day for a
» week. It burned the crap out of my scalp after the second use. Everything
» irritated my scalp, like strong smells. I had to take predisone for 2
» weeks to get rid of the burning. That seemed to help, and from there on my
» scalp has been total choas! Yesterday I had a rough time with the SD on my
» right side, It's taking out my hairline:-( Nizoral and T-gel take alot of
» hair out and make my scalp itch bad afterwards. I just don't know what to
» do anymore.

Have you been seeing the same Dr. all this time?? If so, perhaps it's time for you to do some heavy research, and find 3 strong, prominent dermitologists. Of course this will work great if you have insurance.

I am unemployed now, so I really don't have that luxury anymore. But, at the same time, i'm happy with my uptown Dr. So I'm safe.

If you have insurance, go into the insurance website, and start looking at all of the MD's that is fairly close to you (atleast as far as you are willing to travel). You'll think this is ignorant, but I'm a firm believer in looking closley at what schools Dr's have graduated from. I've found in the past that Dr's who've graduated from prominent schools such as Cornell, Standford, NYU, etc. are usually linked to the best hospital, therefore, giving you the best care, and even having the best modern equipment.

If you donot have insurance, then go to a med school in your city that takes in patience (usually the out of pocket fee is cheap compared to seeing a private Dr.). So you'll be seen by a med student, but all students are supervised under a seasoned MD who are training the students. It's with the established MD's that you'll want to plead your case. As a matter a fact, it doesn't hurt to go with reinforcement. Make sure you have an outline of every thing that you've been going through. All of shampoos that you've taken. Tell them they Dx you with SD, but is that really the case?? As there opinion. Is SD really triggered by hair coloring, or could it be that there was something in the coloring that didn't work with you?? --> This is what you should be asking them. Doesn't hurt to bring the box, or get info on the hair coloring that was used.

Ask them what else can be used, mention Clobex to them, and see what they say. Perhaps the ingredient in the shampoo is different then the Lotion, and perhaps they'll give the the okay to just use the lotion. There's also Dermasmooth (fluocinolone acetonide), which is also another oil that I use. I place it in my scalp overnight, and dampen may head just a bit with water, then put a shower cap, and off to bed. The next morning, I use my clobex product. Perhaps you can just get away with the oil. You should ask them all of these questions, b/c they are the ones, who are the Dr./Chemist. As a matter of fact. All the information that I've just supplied regarding Rx, you should pull up on the internet, and bring it to a local pharmacist. They are actually the best ones to tell you what may, or maynot irritate your scalp. Then take that info to your next Dr. visit, and tell them what the pharmacist said, and you'll use the MD's final advice.

I hope this help...best of luck!!
