I've been on other threads. Maybe somebody can help me. in menopause since 42. now 52. hair drastically thinned starting in November. Probably thinning before but looked good ,but now my scalp is noticeable. Been dealing with going back on HRT, blah,blah,blah. In denial, thought that would fix it. Hairloss dermatologist did biopsy and at my insistence side and back because scalp has few bumps that stayed. AGA diagnosed on top of scalp. had folliculitis on side and nape of nape. on antibiotics. So I said but what do I start taking now to stop hair loss. I forgot to mention he does hair transplants. So that's what he said. Here I thought he was a derm. who dealt with an arsenol of medicines. His answer hair transplant. anway ,He said well you could take Spirolactone. I had tried before. it made me nauseous. Couldn't take it. But he only prescribes 25 twice a day anyway. What kind of hair loss expert is he? Even I know from reading blogs and articles on-line it's 100 to 200 a day, but I can't tolerate it. So I finally got Propecia 1 mg a day from him. Is that okay in place of spiro. I see spiro is anti-andogen and Propecia is DHT blocker. Or should I take sometime in place of spiro and take propecia. I don't understand all of this, but I'm becoming a recluse and am desperate. I started Rogaine two weeks ago 5% twice a day. What do i need to be taking? Help.
