How soon and how little? (Spironolactone, Aldactone)

Hi! The only advice I can give you is based on my own experience. Do you have TE? Or something else? I was diagnosed with TE and put on spiro for about a month or so. Went to a different derm (I hadn't seen any change and the one I had been to didn't really give me guidance, just said it would all correct itself in 6 months -- it'd been a couple and I'd lost 50 - 60 percent of my hair, so that freaked me out). Anyway, the second doctor put me on spiro (I may have done 100mg initially a day -- but mostly did 25mg twice a day for a long time) and he added a 15 day regime of prednisone. I was worried it wasn't working, but about the time I finished the prednisone, or maybe a little after, the shedding quickly decreased and then stopped. Then I had regrowth and virtually no shedding for a while. Then slight shedding as I decreased my dosage, but really minimal. Once it kicked in life was good.
