Heh, tell me about it. I was a victim of an "adrenal fatigue diagnosis. I went to an alternative doctor (who was also an MD, so I thought I was in good hands). I was having among other things, severe anxiety. He diagnosed me with adrenal fatigue and said it wouldn't show up in blood work, so I should get a saliva test. I did, and according to him my DHEA was low (but it was really normal.) He sent me my results through the mail and told me to take a nutritional supplement and how convenient, I could pick it up at his store. It was DHEA. An adrenal steroid, not a NUTRITIONAL supplement. Otherwise known as an androgenic hormone that can cause effin HAIRLOSS. And so there my nightmare into AGA began. When I did get my DHEA levels checked, they were through the roof, and several endocrinologists later told me that saliva tests were not accurate. For me, that diagnosis of adrenal fatigue changed my life for the worse.
