How is everyone doing? (Hair & Scalp Odor Problem)

posted by Betsy, 21.04.2008, 09:31

Nax,
What a great idea! I would love for you to build a web site.

Sorry you are having a bit of trouble. The Jason Dandruff always brings me back home. ;-) I've been surprisingly great lately and I'm still leaning towards the thyroid/endocrine link to this bacterial/fungal problem. I am taking a lower dose of Synthroid so I'm thinking it is easing up on my oil production, etc. But I totally don't understand any of this. One thing I have been doing is taking Turmeric supplements (the spice used in cooking) as it helps with staph and I have no idea if this would help the scalp odor as my scalp odor was under control when I started taking it. But it can't hurt to try and if you don't want to take the supplements, you could just sprinkle the spice over your foods. Wonder if this sounds wacko to anyone? Hope not!:-P Anyway, I'm all for the natural treatments where possible because they seem at this point to be more effective. I had a little staph problem and the turmeric helped where the antibiotics (clindomycin) failed. So I have become a regular user of turmeric. http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/20-health-benefits-of-turmeric.html

Anyway, I use Jason Dandruff once a week (out of fear):-) and Jason Jojoba in between, I go for 2-3 days in between washings. This seems to do the trick for me at the moment.

I do recommend trying turmeric to all. There are lots of links concerning
the health benefits of using it and it is recommended to control skin infections. I am normally very skeptical of trying supplements, believe me. But I do know this was very effective for me and my skin problem. I'm anxious for another person to give this a try and see if it brings favorible results.
