help! need something positive to:ccm (Birth Control Pills & Hair Loss)

Hard to say.  My derm said I probably have the aga gene - I have an aunt that has it and she also had a case of areata - and that because I've been on the pill for so long it just masked the AGA.  I decided last summer to switch to Loestrin to help my pms symptoms and I just remember noticing my hair falling out everywhere while I was trying to make food for a cookout - gross!  Just got worse from there and then I really noticed in the mirror and when I got a sun burn on my head!  Was only on a month or two and switched to ortho tri because it was low androgen.  Of course, my insurance makes me get all generics.  But it did vastly improve the shed - of course, like most, it never replenished what it lost, and I had fine hair to begin with.  When I looked back at photos I could have been gradually thinning but didn't realize it until I had that massive shed w/ the pill change.  I was certainly never able to see my scalp before.  Strangely, when I stopped these recent new pills early this month - its only been 2-3 days of no pills - I didn't have near as much shed in the shower this morning.
