ť ť I am 32 years old and my hair has been thinning for the past year or so.

ť ť all started with the birth of my third child. I knew all about the 4
ť month
ť ť fall out but noticed I seemed to be losing much more hair than I did
ť with
ť ť my other children. The hair loss seemed to come and go and I kept
ť thinking
ť ť it must be stress. Three months ago I went to a dermatologist and
ť began
ť ť spirolactone and rogaine (extra strength, men's version) Ofcourse, I
ť know
ť ť it is too early for any results, but the shedding is still going on and
ť it
ť ť is so hard to deal with. I dread washing my hair and just can't
ť believe
ť ť this is really happening. My dermatologist did not do a scalp test,
ť but
ť ť said she would treat me the same way whether or not it was AGA. Bad
ť news
ť ť for me is that my mom has AGA so it is in the genes. Although, she did
ť not
ť ť start experiencing hair loss until her 50's. I have had my thyroid
ť tested
ť ť and that seems fine.

ť ť Mentally, this is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with. I am
ť depressed
ť ť and sad. My husband is supportive but it is hard for him to understand.
ť ť Although, my friends can't tell yet, I CAN! My ponytail seems half of
ť what
ť ť it used to be and new growth is thin. With every hair that is shed, I
ť feel
ť ť I am that much closer to losing it all. I have 3 beautiful children
ť and
ť ť some days I just don't know how I can live the rest of my life like
ť this. I
ť ť want to be active in their lives, but don't see that happening if the
ť hair
ť ť loss continues. Is there anything that really works? I want to
ť be
ť ť hopeful, but it seems that so much you read is not very reassuring. I
ť know
ť ť it is important to act right away, how do I know I am doing the right
ť ť thing?

ť The rogaine and the spiro definately should help!!!!!!!!You caught this so
ť early.
ť The rogaine may make you shed worse for a few months, try not to be
ť alarmed...but you will be.
ť
ť The spiro should slow the progression of the thinning on an internal level
ť as it loweres androgen levels.
ť

Thank you for the support. Yesterday was a good day and my shedding seemed to be better, I am hoping for more and more of those days. I am curious about avodart. Are people seeing more results with that medicine? Are there too many side effects? I know there is a risk if you were to get pregnant, but I have 3 little ones and our family is definitly complete.
