I found you online while researching on hair loss. I'm a 24 year old female and my DHEAS level is (419) mildly elevated. My hair strands from all over my scalp are thinner and weaker than before but I just don't know what causes this to happen. Is my case similar to yours? What caused your hair loss and how does your medication treat hair loss? Are the strands of your hair thicker and stronger with medication? Are the new hair stronger and thicker?

I feel so frustrated and hopeless. I am taking antidepressants bc I am very depressed about my hair loss.

Hi all, I'am on 5 mg androcur daily,and I feel good. I think the dose
» depends on whether you have high androgens - then you would need the large
» doses like 25 mg or so. If you are just sensible to androgens with normal
» or lower androgens, then a smaller dose might be enough. My doctor started
» me on 2,5 mg three times a week which made me bleed on the days without,
» the we upped to 2,5 mg daily, then to my actual 5 mg - normal hairloss and
» quite a bit of regrowth and less oil on my skin and scalp, as a side effect
» my eyes are dry. I also use estrogen and minoxidil.
