» Look at Beyonce I've never see her with the same hairpiece twice. Also I
» was watching Cold Case last night and the girl who stars on that show wears
» a topper and it looks good, so does Jennifer Love Hewitt. Back in the day
» it was cool to wear a "fall" ala Goldie Hawn, just give the topper trendy
» status and it will be regarded as that.
Deliah - for some reason we can accept, and the male sex in particular can probably accept, that toppers on female famous singers etc, looks good. But i dont see the same acceptance happening for me when it comes to men. I guess i am saying this more from the south asian / indian perspective. Men in my culture are all about naturalness. I've grown up never to wear make up (much prefer it to be honest) and be as simple as can be without ever cutting my once very thick long black hair (minor trims are fine). My mother would oil our hair a few times a week with imported stuff from south asia. This is how men like it, and sadly women conform to that "wantingness"...and if i ever wore or got used to a topper and happened to get into a relationship/marriage, then i can imagine it being the end. That sounds dramatic and im sure not ALL men are like that from my ancestral region, but it's my MAIN obstacle in not wearing the topper i have. I cannot take the risk.
Something i read a few years ago which stuck with me. A man in Egypt agreed to marry a female. After marriage he discovered his wifes long thick black hair was a wig and she was actually bald. He divorced her on the ground that one of his main reasons for marriage was her hair! Talk about shallowness, but it exists a lot in the culture i come from and are surrounded by in close friends/relatives. It's easy to say a man with such an outlook can go to hell, but practically it's hard.
