cautiously optimistic (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)
» So I started finasteride again 3 weeks ago.
»
» If you recall I had to stop after a year for serious stomach issues. My
» shed picked up within 2 months of stopping the finasteride. I know because
» I count hairs AND write the numbers down! I am CRAZY. My shed was back up
» to 180 a day!!!! And yes my hairdresser really noticed.
» So I strted finasteride again, They can take out my gallbladder if they
» need to. Yesterday, about three weeks later my shed was 80 on a shampoo day!
» T hat is a big change. I looked up how long it took my shedding to slow
» when Dr. Redmond put me on it 18 months ago. It only took 3 weeks before
» the shed began to subside. I am pleased I went to him because every other
» Dr I went to said NO finasteride. He was all for it. It is expensive to
» see him but it was worth it! It was DElilah's posts that made me go see
» him. Thanks Delilah! I learned alot from him and his book.
»
» Now I don't know if it works for everyone, but I am cautiously optimistic
» that finasteride will help my hair. Again.
»
» Thanks,
» Marjie
Marjie, The opposite is happening to me, After month 2 on finasteride, I switched to duasteride and right around that time I started shedding. Withing days. I do not know if it was the 2 months on finasteride that caused the shed or switching to the avodart. But I am still shedding and it has been 3 months shedding, today.....I am on diane and had not been shedding like this prior...
