Wig Newbie! (Wigs)
Hi there - im interested in perhaps trying out a wig/hair extensions as (hopefully) just a medium term solution to my thinning hair. I have absolutley zero prior knowledge/experience of wigs/hair systems and had e few questions. Any help is truly appreciated...
1) How do you attatch the wig?
Men are often totally bald or so thin they just shave off what's left on top, i still have most of my hair it is just very thinned/more see through in places ie hairline/midscalp, but i certainly wouldn't consider shaving it bald to wear a wig!
2) Should i be looking at what is called a 'topper' rather than a 'full wig' because my loss is only on top not on the sides/back?
3) Do i definitely need a 'lace front' if i am to pull my hair back/show hairline?
4)Should the wig base be all lace or part poly?
5) Can i get a wig/system that i can maintain/take off regularly myself or do i have to sign up for a hair club type salon?Can it be bonded for extended wear ie weeks at a time?
6) I have come across on-line suppliers of systems that seem to cater more for men are they a good idea for women?
7) I am based in the UK can anyone suggest some reputable on-line companies and/or high street salons i could research/consult with?
Sorry for so many questions but any help on these basic would be so good. I should say i have tried cover-up products like dermatch etc but think i need extensions/wig/topper now as thinning has worsened.
