Study: 5AR inhibition has no effect for female pattern baldness (Propecia, Finasteride for Women)

What this study suggests to me is that the balance between testosterone and estrogen is at the heart of the issue. It seems that everything that affects estrogen levels has been named as a potential HL cause...pregnancy, peri and menopause, PCOS, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, et... And when the testosterone levels are higher IN RELATION to estrogen levels (even if they're within the so-called normal range), the problems begin.

As far as the Fin and other 5AR inhibitors, the men's boards are full of stories about feminizing side effects like gyno (man boobs), erection problems and other unmanly symptoms. So maybe those drugs help to alter the RATIO or balance of estrogen to testosterone? I don't know...just hypothesizing.

But at the end of the day, I think estrogen is the key to loss and regrowth. But it has to be in balance with every other hormone...testosterone, thryroid hormone, progesterone, cortisol, etc...

I could be completely wrong, but everything seems to point in that direction. I don't think you can just take a pill and solve HL. You have to get everything back to a healthy balance. But how...? Thoughts?
